Work experience:

Jan Pedersen was a professor of tax law at the Department of Law at the University of Aarhus from 1994 to 2021. Before becoming a professor he was an associate professor in criminal law. He has in-depth teaching experience at all levels. Before becoming an academic at the University of Aarhus he worked as a lawyer. Lawyers and auditors have used Jan Pedersen as a legal expert concerning tax issues and Jan Pedersen has during his tenure at the University of Aarhus drafted multiple legal opinions concerning such issues.

Position:

Jan Pedersen has among other things participated in several committees preparing tax legislation. He was a member of and chairman of the Nordic Tax Science Research Council. He is chairman of the Tax Case Fund and was from 1995-2017 editor-in-chief of Karnov’s. In 2019, Jan Pedersen was awarded the title of honorary doctor at the University of Lund, Sweden. He was awarded this honorary title in appreciation of his research on abuse of tax law and his efforts for academic research in the Nordic countries.

Publications:

Jan Pedersen is the author of several textbooks and handbooks, including “Tax Exploitation” (doctoral dissertation), “Tax Law 1 and 2”, “Tax and Tax Criminal Law”, “Tax Administration – Tax Process-Tax Control” and “Transfer Pricing – in international tax law.” He is also the author of a large number of scientific articles on tax law and criminal law topics in Danish and foreign professional journals.
